The Keeping Adults Safe in Shropshire Network are committed to ensuring that there are multi-agency procedures in place which apply across Shropshire. The aim of the multi-agency procedures is to ensure that people and organisations from the independent, voluntary or public sector; who have contact with an adult(s) with care and support needs; are able to effectively and collaboratively prevent and protect adults from abuse or neglect by:
- understanding their own roles and responsibilities;
- having sufficient practical and legal guidance.
All organisations who work with adults with care and support needs and are members of the Keeping Adults Safe in Shropshire Network have a statutory duty to safeguard adults as prescribed in the Care Act 2014 and outlined in the Care and Support Statutory Guidance. It is therefore expected that the Network’s multi-agency procedures and guidance are adhered to and that adult safeguarding policies, procedures and practices within individual organisations are aligned to those of the Network.
Shropshire is a member of the West Midlands Regional Adult Safeguarding Network and contributes to the West Midlands Regional Adult Safeguarding Multi-Agency Policies and Procedures. All regional procedures must be agreed and adopted, with local amendments where necessary, by the Keeping Adults Safe in Shropshire Network. All agreed procedures and amendments therefore appear on this page.
